On Saturday, May 30, iUniversity Prep (iUP) celebrated 239 graduates as they walked across the stage to receive their diplomas. More than 70 of this year’s graduates have called iUP home since middle school, growing up within our virtual community and helping shape today’s iUP experience.
“In a lot of ways iUniversity Prep showed us that a real community can exist anywhere when people genuinely care about each other and support each other,” said student speaker Nikhil Khanna.
On many levels, the Class of 2026 is the embodiment of everything iUP was built to be.
They are involved. They started new clubs, built genuine friendships with classmates and staff, and left their mark on the iUP experience for students who will follow in their footsteps. They embraced the flexibility that makes iUP unique, pursuing competitive athletics, fine arts and other passions that traditional schools couldn’t accommodate. They fully engaged with the college-prep education and walked away with a deep appreciation for our Owl Professors who pushed them, believed in them and prepared them for what comes next.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to be a part of your journey,” shared principal Des Weiche at graduation. “We are so excited for you to take flight into your future!”
Here’s where our graduates are headed next: 130 students are heading to 4-year universities, 35 to 2-year colleges or junior colleges, and four to trade or technical school. A majority of students earned scholarships to their prospective schools, totaling $13,070,347 in scholarships for the Class of 2026. Twenty-eight students are stepping directly into their career fields, two are answering the call to serve in the Coast Guard and Marine Corps, and 16 are taking a gap year – many in pursuit of athletic and performance goals or other passions.
