iUPrep "Best High Schools" Ranking

We are delighted to announce that iUniversity Prep was named to the U.S. News & World Report’s “Best High Schools” ranking for 2019, the second consecutive year for our school to achieve this distinction. Congratulations also go to two other Grapevine-Colleyville ISD schools, Grapevine High School and Colleyville Heritage High School, who were also chosen for ranking.

The report identifies the nation’s top-performing public high schools based on the rate at which students demonstrate outstanding outcomes in math and reading state assessments, pass a diverse array of college-level exams, and graduate on schedule.

Nationally, iUniversity Prep ranked (approximately) among the top 20% of public high schools selected for recognition, out of a possible 17,245 schools chosen for ranking and more than 23,000 schools that received an initial review. Among the more than 2,000 public high schools ranked in Texas, iUniversity Prep was ranked in the top 250, coming in ahead of all other virtual public schools in Texas by a substantial margin.

This year’s “Best High Schools” report is noteworthy since the cohort of schools ranked is at least six times larger than the number of schools ranked in 2018. Additionally, rankings were determined on a revamped and updated methodology that focused on a range of indicators: college readiness, college preparatory curriculum breadth, math and reading proficiency and performance, underserved student performance, and graduation rates.

This kind of recognition is an example of just one of the reasons why I’m proud of our Owl Professors and the entire iUniversity Prep team. Their commitment to providing a rigorous and engaging learning experience for our students, as well as the continued innovation they demonstrate in our virtual classrooms, continue to amaze me year after year. I look forward to celebrating many additional achievements with our team in the years to come.
